Piper Companies is in search of a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join an innovative SaaS organization specializing in Data Integration and Collaboration. The ideal candidate will have experience developing software in distributed cloud environments and deploying serverless applications in AWS Lambda. The Senior Backend Software Engineer will be responsible for developing back-end core services and driving the expansion of services provided by the organization.

Senior Backend Software Engineer - Responsibilities:
  • Design, Develop, and implement cloud-based, fully managed, server-side architecture at the core of the organizations real-time distributed data platform
  • Work with Design and Product Teams to create platforms/products that assist in managing large volumes of data in real time
  • Drive testing, automation, workflows, quality, performance, CI/CD, etc.

Senior Backend Software Engineer - Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of back-end specific software development experience
  • Experience with Python, TypeScript, and/or Rust (The application is currently built in Python, but they are considering Rust for new development)
  • Must have experience with Kafka or similar technology and possess a firm understanding of large scale async data processing, data replications, and observability in real-time systems
  • Must have recent experience working with AWS Lambda in production environments
  • Experience with highly distributed, highly available (five "9's) serverless cloud development

Senior Backend Software Engineer - Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual Salary Range: $150,000-$200,000
